NoodistHQ : The Making of the new NOOD
2020 was a year for the books for all of us. It turned our lives upside down in so many ways, and we are still reeling from the change in our work and home lives. 2020 was also the year we decided to rebrand and pivot our strategy to launch NOOD. By February 2020, things were full steam ahead, and our new name and logo were ready. Then came March... and well, you know how the rest of the year went.
After many Zoom calls and having to build the entire business over virtual matcha lattes (in the boob mugs we made ourselves we'll have you know!), we found our rhythm, and while it may have taken a lot longer than we hoped, the NOOD we have created for you today is better for the challenges we faced. From supplier dilemmas to delays caused by Covid and working tirelessly to get every detail right, we are so proud of the brand we've built.
NOOD is more than a brand. We have built something we believe to be as inclusive and sustainable as we possibly could with the startup budget we had, and as we grow, so will our efforts to improve on these two pillars that define being a #Noodist.
We've spent ages researching and testing products in different skin tones. We've moved away from naming conventions that feel like they might exclude anybody. We've created quality products that provide both luxury and value with real women at the heart of everything we do.
Our commitment to launching as sustainably as we can is unwavering. Our mailer bags are 100% compostable. Our boxes, tubes, envelopes and tissue paper are all made from recycled materials. Our Game Changer and Shape Tape are the product of an exclusive partnership with a manufacturer who has helped us create products made of sustainable hemp fabric, which uses five times less water than cotton.
Rather than using single-use pasties, we wanted to create a product that can be used with our Game Changer and Shape Tape products and on its own. Our No Show nipple covers are reusable and last up to 3 months or more.
We also wanted to be more than a brand that sells stuff. We wanted to be a brand that becomes a movement. We wanted to empower women. Our Boobology education platform and free monthly breast check reminder are something we've been planning for what seems like ages. Even if we manage to help just one woman kick cancer to the curb, we will have succeeded in our mission.
We have so much to share with you: who we are as founders, our mission and sharing "behind the scenes" on this fantastic journey. We hope you'll join us and become a #Noodist.
