Our Ethos
Kind to the Planet. Kind to Each Other.

We will never claim to be perfect, but we are constantly striving to be as sustainable as possible. We strongly believe that it is our responsibility to do what is right for our planet.

Our Sustainability Framework is based on 3 pillars:

Is it Compostable/Natural?

This is important because it means it breaks down within a relatively short period of time 90 - 180 days, going back to nature as nature intended and not filling up landfills.

Is it Recycled/Recyclable?

Using recycled content or recyclable materials increases the lifespan of the products/materials and also reduces the amount of waste going to landfills and the resources spent on generating new materials.

Is it Reusable?

Increasing the lifespan of a product inherently reduces waste and resources.

"We are on a mission to set a new paradigm of sustainability in fashion. It takes time, it costs more, but its the right thing to do."

- Astrid Montalta, Founder & CEO

THE NOOD WAY.

Our signature Hemp fabric that is used in our Game Changer Bra and Shape Tape is one of the most sustainable fabrics in the world. Not only does it use 5x less (or more!) water than cotton, it doesn't require any pesticides to grow, has twice the yield per acre as cotton, and enriches the soil it grows in.

Our No-Show nipple covers unlike traditional nipple covers are plastic-free. They are made of a single layer of ergonomic medical grade rubber silicone that lasts our average customer 6 months even with daily wear vs normal nipple covers (silicone gel in between 2 plastic sheets) that only last 4-5 wears. Additionally, when worn together with our Game Change Bra or Shape Tape, you can keep wearing them long after the adhesive has worn off.

We see plastic as the main threat and polluter to the environment today, and are proud to say that we are almost entirely 100% plastic-free. All of our mailer bags are from Grounded Packaging and certified compostable. Our ecommerce boxes are made from recycled content and 100% recyclable. Our tissue paper and stickers are from NoIssue and use recycled materials, and natural toxic free dyes and adhesives. All of our product packaging is paper based, with recycled content and fully recyclable.

Struggling to find the right things to say, and terrified of saying the wrong thing, are common anxieties when you’ve witnessed someone you care about go through something as physically and mentally traumatic as a mastectomy.

Our advice — well, a stack of advice from friends and survivors of #TheNOODist — is to, above anything else, just be yourself. Sure, you might put your foot in a few times to begin with, but all your friend really wants is her fabulous friend.

It’s going to be a rough ride but you’ve got this and planning ahead, as well as packing right can almost certainly help.

Here are a few ways to prepare yourself for your post-op hospital stay, from friends of ours who have been there and done it.

“It’s breast cancer; it’s a bitch; it’s going to be a rollercoaster of emotion.”
It’s not an easy subject to navigate, especially if a friend or loved one has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, or is struggling with her journey, so we thought we’d try and explain a few of the basics
